HaluHalo Journal is excited to announce the creation of its first anthology, titled Legend. Legend will be the first ever print Southeast Asian youth anthology, featuring 20 to 40 emerging authors. A small payment will be distributed to each author. Through this anthology, we hope to highlight the beauty of Southeast Asian culture and bring further representation to the table.
In Legend, we seek your past and future. We seek tales that glitter with culture and specificity, that echo the rich history of your heritage. We also seek your future–stories that impact us, that leave your mark with the world. In essence, we want your story, whether that be in the context of your life, your ancestry, or your country. As Southeast Asian youth, we create the future–and our stories are powerfully, inextricably tied to the world around us. We are our own legends in the making.
